NCM Excursion Information
NCM invite you to take advantage of your visit to Charleston by exploring this wonderful city and its surroundings! Two NCM excursions will take place on NCM has organized several excursions on Thursday, April 23rd that are custom designed to fit with the meeting's afternoon off. Please make note of the minimum numbers required for the tours to run and be sure to sign up for your tour no later than March 15, 2015.
1) Walking Tour of Charleston (3:30-5:30pm, $25 per person). Meander through back alleyways and cobblestone streets, and stroll along the prestigious Battery, reveling in the city of Charleston’s amazing beauty and historic traditions. Visit the city's most historic sites including churches, the waterfront, battle monuments, and mansions, and take in the spring gardens during the most beautiful time of year. There is an 8 person minimum pick up required for this tour. If the minimum is not met, the tour will be cancelled and a refund will be provided.
2) Magnolia Gardens Plantation (3:15-7:15pm, $39 per person). Founded in 1676 by the Drayton family, Magnolia Plantation has survived three centuries and witnessed the history of the nation unfold before it from the American Revolution through the Civil War and beyond. It is the oldest public tourist site in the Lowcountry, and the oldest public gardens in America, opening its doors to visitors in 1870 to view the thousands of beautiful flowers and plants in its famous gardens.
This excursion includes transportation to/from the gardens (30 minutes outside the city), as well as admission, which grants access to the orientation theatre and gift shop. Those who wish to purchase a house tour may do so onsite for an additional cost of $8. There is a 20 person minimum pick up required for this tour. If the minimum is not met, the tour will be cancelled and a refund will be provided.
Getting to Charleston
Charleston International Airport
(CHS) is located 12 miles (20 minutes) from downtown Charleston and near the intersection of I-26 and I-526. You can travel to CHS through these major US cities: Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, SC, Washington, DC, Chicago, IL.
Getting around Charleston
