Poster Information

Please use the information below to assist with your poster preparation and presentation.

Poster Specifications

 

  • Poster size is limited to 1 meter (width) by 2.25 meter (height), or 3.28 feet x 7.38 feet.  A0 print size is recommended
  • Posters must be created in portrait format.
  • Velcro dots will be available to attach your poster to the poster board. Tape, glue and other adhesives or push pins are not to be used on the poster boards.  Please note if you are printing on canvas that velcro dots do not work well.
  • Each poster has been given a unique Poster Number. 

 

Poster Pointers

 

Please find below some pointers on creating an effective poster.

 

  • Keep text to a minimum
  • Ensure text is in large font (should be able to see from 4 ft. away)
  • Use graphs, charts, and/or tables
  • Ensure contents have a logical flow
  • Make it colorful
  • Do not include an abstract
  • Avoid titles with colons
  • Use italics instead of underlining
  • Mini-handouts of posters are encouraged in order to stimulate ad hoc discussion, and to provide participants with a useful copy for their own reading.

Poster Sessions

Poster presentations have been divided into 2 sessions and arranged based on poster themes. Posters will be on display as follows:

Poster Session 1

  • Tuesday May 2, between 08:00 – 17:00
  • Wednesday May 3, between 08:00 – 17:00

Poster Session 2

  • Thursday May 4, between 08:00 – 14:15
  • Friday May 5, between 08:00 – 14:45

Mandatory Hours

Please ensure you are present each day, on both allocated days, to present your poster presentation from:

  • 10:15 – 10:45 (coffee break) – Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday
  • 9:40 – 10:10 (coffee break) – Thursday
  • 13:00 – 15:00 (lunch) – Tuesday, Wednesday
  • 12:15 – 14:15 (lunch) – Thursday
  • 12:45 – 14:45 (lunch) – Friday

The format of poster presentations will be in conjunction with the coffee break and grazing lunch.  Food and beverage will be served in close proximity to the poster boards to maximize footfall to your presentation and engagement with attendees, as they will be moving through the poster display area to the various strategically placed lunch stations.

Poster Set-up / Removal

 

Poster presenters must set-up and remove their posters during the following times:

 

Poster Session 1

 

  • Set-up: Tuesday, May 2, 07:00 and 10:00
  • Remove: Wednesday, May 3, between 17:00 and 18:00 (you can also take your poster with you at the end of the poster session on Wednesday, May 3 at 15:00)

 

Poster Session 2

 

  • Set-up: Thursday, May 4, between 07:00 and 9:30
  • *Remove: Friday, May 5, at 14:45 (following the last poster session on Friday, May 5, please take your poster with you)

 

 

Early removal of posters is not allowed.  Posters not removed by the above noted times will be removed and disposed of accordingly.

 

Digital copies of poster abstracts will be available for download in our Member Resources area.
